Call for Papers

Researchers, professors, and postgraduate students from national and international universities are invited to participate with individual presentations or tables with the main theme: "Microeconomics and plurality, theory and applications, on the 300th anniversary of the birth of Adam Smith.”

Principles

Plurality in economic theory and particularly in microeconomics has been consolidated with the development of alternative theories to neoclassical thought. Theoretical approaches such as complexity theory, evolutionism, Keynesian and post-Keynesian, Marxism, among others, are alternatives that analyze and construct coherent explanations of our globalized reality.

This seminar seeks to stimulate free and plural thinking about the economic reality in the field of microeconomics. All those interested in participating with documents and presentations related to the topic of this seminar are welcome to participate.

Plurality in microeconomic transcends the orthodox box, offering alternatives so that the student, teacher, and researchers of economics can choose different ways for understanding and theorizing economic processes. In parallel, the heterodox micro theory in syllabus and teaching allows students to understand and explain widely the dynamics of current microeconomic processes from a critical point of view.

In this IX International Seminar on Heterodox Microeconomics, we seek to debate:

  1. the critical analysis of the foundations of neoclassical microeconomics of supply; and,
  2. reviewing several heterodox approaches that have flourished in recent decades in economic thought.

In different faculties and schools of economics around the world, academics are committed to reflecting on teaching and researching applied microeconomics from critical point of view. For this reason, we also open this space to those teachers and researchers who wish to share their theoretical reflections and experiences in microeconomics teaching from a heterodox approach.
