Call for Papers

The community of teachers and researchers from national and international universities is invited to participate.  Interested applicants, researchers, professors and postgraduate students can propose individual papers or posters related to heterodox microeconomics point of view and the theme:

“Theories of the firm and the supply curve”

Principles

The plurality in economic theory and microeconomics has been consolidated with the development of alternative theories to neoclassical mainstream. Theoretical approaches like complexity, evolutionism, management, Keynesian, post-Keynesian, and Marxism, among others, now are recognized alternatives that build coherent explanations of globalized world reality.

Heterodox economics and microeconomics approaches allows us to understand better the national and global reality. In this occasion the general theme of the 8th SIMH will focus on the “Theories of the firm and the supply curve”.

The heterodox analysis offers alternatives to deep knowledge of the economic dynamics so that the student, teacher, and researchers of the economy can choose alternative ways of understanding and theorizing economic processes. In this VIII International Seminar on Heterodox Microeconomics, we seek to put on the table for discussion: on one hand, the critical analysis of the foundations of neoclassical supply curve; and on the other, to offer several heterodox approaches that have flourished in recent decades in economic thought.

For this reason, we open this space to those teachers and researchers who wish to share their theoretical reflections and experiences in teaching microeconomics from a heterodox point of view.
